K.I.D.S. Plus offers sports and therapeutic recreation programs for children 4-20+ with developmental disabilities from all communities. Programs are run by paid professionals and staffed with volunteers to assist the children. New volunteers are welcome! K.I.D.S. Plus is a recognized organization for community service. It is a 501(c)3 fully insured organization that relies on private donations to fund its programs. For these reasons, a fee is required but no one will be turned away due to an inability to pay.
Art Workshop with Miss Julie
Wednesdays from 4:15-5:15 pm
Location: Brosnan Building. Room A121
Session started January 18. You need to register for this program -- all info can be found on the K.I.D.S. Plus website. All ages are welcome. Parental assistance may be necessary depending on the number of volunteers.
Music Therapy
Sundays from 11 am - Noon

Basketball
Thursdays from 5-6 pm
Location: Brosnan Building

Saturdays from 8:30-10 am
Location: Gold Medal Gymnastics, 266 East Pulaski Road, Huntington

Yoga with Miss Amy
Mondays from 5-6 pm
Location: Brosnan Building, Room A105

We are a 501c(3) non-profit charitable organization dedicated to providing recreational and therapeutic land and sea sports programs for children on the Autism Spectrum and other developmental disabilities. Our focus is on the "abilities" of our participants and believe that everyone can benefit from sports activities. We encourage all family members to participate together, which not only makes it fun for the whole family but provides a vital opportunity for support and networking. This non-profit community and youth agency serves the school districts of Elwood, Harborfields and Northport-East Northport. It offers after-school programs for Middle School and High School students.

This non-profit organization is dedicated to providing challenged individuals the opportunity to successfully participate in all levels of mainstream athletics. Rolling Thunder is open to developmentally and/or physically challenged individuals, age 5 or older, regardless of disability. Do you know a child who you would like to see S.O.A.R. ahead academically and socially this summer? Vincent Smith School's summer Social Opportunities And Remediation program can do just that! Our S.O.A.R. program is designed to address the needs of reluctant learners and students with learning disabilities such as ADD, ADHD, Asperger Syndrome, and expressive and receptive language issues. The program provides students in grades 4-8 the opportunity to remediate, maintain, or enrich their skill sets in the areas of reading, writing, math and social cognition. Each year the district provides an after-school bowling program at Larkfield Lanes for students with disabilities. Bus transportation is not provided -- parents are expected to drop off and pick up their children. To register: contact Nicole Barbier-Adil at 631-262-6834.

BrainPOP!
We received this info from Christina Pulaski, Director of Special Education. The BrainPOP educational website is available for all students from Kindergarten through Grade 12. BrainPOP is an animated educational site for kids. The subjects include: science, social studies, English, math, arts & music, health, and technology.
